How To Measure Your Child

How To Measure Your Child

Kids grow up in the blink of the eyes. Their existing clothes seem to shrink fast in the wardrobe. Measuring your children regularly and accurately is the best way to ensure a good fit for their clothes and comfort. This guide shows the basic measurements in terms of how to take them properly and how to check that your little one’s clothing is best fitted. Assumed that you have a measurement tape with you at home.

Height

Get your child to stand barefoot on flat ground, and measure from the heel to the top of the head. Some parents make a mark on a wall or doorframe and measure their children’s height from there – it’s also a fun way to track how fast they’re growing.

Chest

Wrap the measuring tape right under the armpit and leave just a little room for extra comfort.

Waist

Measure around the waistline which is just above the hips, holding the tape lightly loose for a comfortable fit.

Hip

Standing with their legs together, measure around the widest part of your child’s hips.

Shoulder

Measure from one end of the shoulder to another end at the upper portion of your child’s back.

Leg Length

Measure from the Waist level to the very bottom of the feet. It’s also suggested to take this measurement when your child has shoes on in order to get an idea of where the pants leg will rest above the shoe.

Last but not least, it is very important that measurement of each product listed on an online store must be accurate. Here at SUNJIMISE Kids Fashion, we assure our customers that all measurements are accurate for each individual product, so please make sure to check size chart before making a purchase. Happy shopping!
